Rahul Tewatia's 2022 finish against Punjab reduced the chase to its clearest possible demand: twelve from two balls. Two ordinary sixes would do it. Anything smaller would need help from somewhere else.

What happened in the real match

Gujarat Titans chased 190 against Punjab Kings at Brabourne Stadium on 8 April 2022. Shubman Gill made 96, but the match still went to the final deliveries. With twelve required from two, Tewatia hit Odean Smith for consecutive sixes to secure a six-wicket win. Gujarat's third successive victory arrived from a position where there was almost no scoring flexibility left. IPL's official Punjab–Gujarat report.

Historical summary: Gill builds with 96; Twelve needed from two; Tewatia hits six and six

The arithmetic removes the comfortable option

A four followed by a six totals ten. Two fours total eight. Without extras, the twelve-run target therefore demands two maximums. That does not make the batting decision easy; it makes the requirement clear. You still need to read two separate deliveries and make two good contacts. Knowing what must happen is very different from being able to execute it twice.

Rahul Tewatia scenario equation: 12 from 2; A clear requirement still needs two separate executions.

Step into the game scenario

RapidCricket opens at the two-ball moment against Smith. Select a direction after checking the field, then time the loft to the arriving ball. Do not press before the delivery because the target seems obvious. If the first ball is six, reset your attention for the second rather than celebrating the attempt as half-scripted success. The second ball has its own timing and outcome.

The left controls choose leg, straight or off; the right controls choose defend, drive or loft. The brief shows your equipped bat against the scenario's rating. A lower-rated bat can make a demanding boundary target harder, so use that information when judging a missed attempt. The numbers in the table are the game's starting conditions; its lives, delivery sequence and progression are not a historical scorecard.

Treat each attempt as two independent reads. After the first shot, consciously release the old timing and watch the new run-up. Review whether the second input was based on the ball or on anticipation.

Try this finish: Play the Rahul Tewatia scenario. If it is ahead of your career progress, the link opens an exhibition: you use your own bat and kit, and it does not advance the career or award diamonds. An already-open stage follows normal career rules.
