Twenty-eight from five balls is an equation that seems to have already made up its mind. Rinku Singh hit five sixes anyway. The 2023 KKR–Gujarat finish is a rare chase where the highlight sequence looks almost like the only remaining route.
What happened in the real match
Gujarat Titans posted 204 for four in Ahmedabad on 9 April 2023. Kolkata needed 29 from the last over; Umesh Yadav took a single from the first delivery. Rinku then hit Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes, finishing unbeaten on 48 from 21 balls as KKR won by three wickets. The late assault also overturned a match in which Rashid Khan had taken a hat-trick. The final five balls changed the result and the story people would remember. IPL's official GT–KKR report.

Even one four leaves a very narrow route
Five sixes total thirty. Four sixes and a four total twenty-eight. With no extras, that means a conventional five-ball boundary sequence has only two runs of room below a perfect set of maximums. A dot would leave twenty-eight required from four balls, beyond four ordinary sixes. The arithmetic explains the tension without needing an invented probability or a claim that the chase was literally impossible.

Step into the game scenario
The game begins after Umesh's single, at 28 from five. Read the ball before each loft rather than letting the previous six set an automatic rhythm. A successful shot can make you hurry the next one; that is exactly when a five-ball feat can fall apart. Use the field map and timing feedback. The live challenge is about producing your own sequence, not triggering a scripted Rinku animation.

Before the first ball
The left controls choose leg, straight or off; the right controls choose defend, drive or loft. The brief shows your equipped bat against the scenario's rating. A lower-rated bat can make a demanding boundary target harder, so use that information when judging a missed attempt. The numbers in the table are the game's starting conditions; its lives, delivery sequence and progression are not a historical scorecard.
Make several short attempts and record the first ball that breaks the target's ordinary boundary route. Was it mistiming, direction or shot choice? Practise that decision rather than simply restarting faster.
Try this finish: Play the Rinku Singh scenario. If it is ahead of your career progress, the link opens an exhibition: you use your own bat and kit, and it does not advance the career or award diamonds. An already-open stage follows normal career rules.
